Click Here for Audio Version of sElf reflected...seal pup and micro sprouts!

Recently a traveller to New Zealand recounted to me watching a seal pup stuck in a volcanic rock inlet with waves crashing against the pup’s every effort to swim out to the open water; again and again the little body was thrown back. That little seal is tricky to see. . . maybe you can catch a peek by zooming in to find a dark fleck.

Canadian culture has a movement toward homing rescue animals. Many of us know people who when choosing a pet, specifically looked for animals who had been neglected, abused or abandoned. My interactions with these creatures impress me with their joy in being loved and cared for. It is palpable, shining out of knowing eyes; even if their traumatic past pops forward occasionally.

A beloved image I captured once: a milk jug cap outside, holding little sprouts standing, with their two micro green leaves, glowing in the skiff of dirt blown into the cap.

Does the tenacity of Life Force, dredge wonder from you?

Is it possible that you are reflected here?

Is some facet of your pain and power glimmering, calling?

Beleaguered, battered and blown. . . here you stand.

Life Force wills to shine through the vector of your human body.
